Thomas Strugnell (Hiller)

Current Position:
My current role at Phoenix Arts is Marketing & Systems Coordinator means I am responsible for producing engaging and informative content for social media, website, and print-based. I provide the Board of Trustees a monthly report on our social media and website engagement providing them with the rate of conversion to users buying tickets, this highlights the impacts of our online and physical presence. This report allows for us to better understand our audience and how we can better cater for them. My responsibilities also include managing the box office which involves putting shows on sales and ensuring that the day to day box office runs smoothly. I ensure that our new branding is followed throughout the business and ensure that external companies are using our assets in the correct methods. I am the primary port of call for external communication between Phoenix Arts and production companies when it comes to discussing marketing and ticket sales. I also am the primary contact for talking to the external website company who redesigned our new website.
Skills:
- Team working. I have had different roles within many different teams over the years; such as Marketing Assistant for The Phoenix Theatre & Arts Centre, Marketing Officer for Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust and Studio Brunel, Stage Hand and Lead Designer for Studio Brunel, Bar & Waiting  Staff for Fullers and Red Mist Leisure. I have also worked abroad within a team, taking care of children for Camp America.
- Time management. I manage my time through an online calendar or a wall planner; this allows me to sort my personal life and work-life well as I see when I'm doing tasks or events.
- Independent worker. I can work well on my own as I manage my time carefully and ensure all the work is completed on time; this is shown through my time management skills. This is also reinforced through working abroad with the children and working in hospitality as there is much responsibility on each member of staff to put 100% effort in.
- Organisation. Planning is key to my work style as it allows me to complete the work done to a high level of detail.
- Creative thinking. I look at my surroundings and take inspiration from them, which is then fed into my work.
